(the terrible twos) 2 + binky freedom

I have 2, 2-year-olds. And they are quickly coming of age. They are oh so messy and sometimes I have a hard time being patient. They are also starting to all play together. It melts my heart. The other day they were all on the trampoline playing nicely together for 20 minutes! I love listening to them talk.

Today in the car:

Max: Mine! Mine!
Graham : You think I'm going to give in to you when you talk like that?

Tonight in their beds:

Sadie: Costco pizza!
Max: Costco pizza!
Sadie: Costco pizza!
Max: Costco pizza!
Sadie: I like Costco pizza, Max.

We are a binky free family! I bought them these bears to snuggle when they needed their binkys.

Names of the bears:

Graham's: Ironman
Sadie's: Puppy
Max's: Binky

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I had such a great weekend. In Mexico, Mother's Day was on Friday so I started celebrating then and took it through the weekend. Amron arranged for the kids to go to a friend's house Friday. I dropped the kids off and went to breakfast with some friends. Amron got me this so I went home and spent a little time on my blog. Saturday afternoon I had a photo shoot and while I was gone Amron took the kids and got me some surprises! We got tacos then came home for my surprises: flowers, lots of chocolates, Iron man treats (Graham choose), and a Dairy Queen ice cram cake. Sunday Amron made every meal and let me get ready for church by myself. After church we Facetime(d) my parents who were skyping Chase! It was so fun to be spoiled. I'm so greatful for Amron! He's the best. And has come along way with birthdays and Mother's Days. I'm so greatful for the sweetest, craziest kids who make being a mom an adventure! And also my mom for bring the best. Love you mom!

baby hungry

I know a ton of women/ladies/girls who are pregnant right now! It's so fun and exciting. Here's some cute things I wanted to show ya!

1. Hospital Photographer:  These are so sweet! I can actually smell the baby through these pictures. We've never had a photographer come to the hospital but I think it would be so cool to do. Not the birth just the after birth. Meaning taking pictures after the baby was born. Isn't labor so gross and cool and awkward? The other night I was talking about birthing things with my friend and I had to lay down because I started blacking out. I'm a baby and I don't know how I ever gave birth.

2. The Sweetest Headbands:  I want everything in their store. I love the muted colors and fun patterns.

3. The Perfect Nursery:  Perfect. I want this to be my room, if the bed was a little bigger.

4. Maternity Pics: These are simple and beautiful.

5. Shoes! Have you ever made baby shoes? I have a cousin who does! But I don't.

P.S. I'm not pregnant. I'm just starting to recover from the last 2 years and maybe missing those little  sweet things.

Max's quilt

I found a bunch of vintage quilt blocks a few years ago at a thrift store. I pulled out all the blues and browns for Max's quilt. If I start now I might be finished my Christmas!

school

I took Graham out of his preschool. It was a tough decision because he was making good friends and learning Spanish and it was so nice to have a little break. But I kept feeling like I needed to have him with me.
So we've been doing a little school of our own.
It goes like this:

-Book of Mormon stories
-Articles of Faith
-ABC's and counting songs

then whenever these hooligans finally fall asleep we can get down to the nitty gritty

like reading, patterns,

and mustaches.

lentil soup

This has been my go-to dinner for a while now.
Everyone likes it, it's super easy and cheap, healthy and low cal.

-carrots (5)
-onions (1 or 2)
-dried lentils (3cups)
-celery (4 stocks)
-sweet potato (1 big one)
-garlic (3 cloves)
-chicken bullion (1)

Cut everything up, put it in the crockpot and wait a few hours!

Sometimes I add chicken and other veggies.
Do what ya what!

6 weeks.

6 weeks until summer vacation. and that will be the end of our first year of medical school. and the end of our first year living in Mexico.

i feel like this is a big mile stone for us. the first years are always the hardest, right?
-marriage
-baby
-ummm jr. high? (nope, doesn't work)

but anyways... i'm kind of proud of us. can i say that again?

I'M FREAKING PROUD OF US!

Med school is pretty tough. And sometimes Mexico can be tough. And there are even some rare days when the kids can be tough. And we're doing it.

I feel kind of in limbo lately. I really, really want to enjoy this time here in Mexico, and I am but I'm catching myself looking ahead to when we will be back in AZ and have Sunday dinners at my moms, Sonic trips, and so much family around. It's hard not to be excited about those things.

Update

Amron: always has tests. And he's always studying. And he's doing really well! He's been amazing at balancing it all: school, church callings and family time. I'm in awe of him. Even when I'm complaining I still think he's the greatest.

Me: I turned 25! In March. I'm in my mid-twenties! Old. My favorite thing about being a mom is snuggling. Every morning me and the kids snuggle in my bed. For about 2 minutes. I wish longer. My worst part about being a mom: discipline. I'm bad at it. I usually say I'm gonna tell dad. Bad, I know.

Graham: Almost every time we talk to someone Graham tells them that he's 4. He shows with his fingers and says cuatro. He also shows them how long his legs are. Not sure why. He's starting to be so helpful! Now that he's 4 and "big" he's really into helping me. I like it. He still loves super heroes, thats's his thing. If someone's not rescuing someone he's not that interested. And he's understanding so much Spanish.

Max: Max is my sweet boy. But he's all boy. He's into doing things on his own. I was upstairs and I heard someone coming up so I went to the top of the stairs and tried to help him up because he was crawling and pulling his blanket. He refused me! He said, "no!" And then crawled to the top, sat down by me and smiled the most confidant, I told you so smile. Then he said, "snuggle mom". So of course we went and snuggled.

Sadie: Sadie o, Sadie! Sadie is into? Being the funniest girl in the whole world! She talks and talks and talks and has the sweetest, funniest voice. She loves being a girl. She always says, "I'm a girl!". She also points out "bad guys". Usually when they are pretty close and can hear and see her little finger pointing at them and I hope none of them speak English.

Well, we're still alive here in Mexico. We will be flying to Juarez in June so we might not be alive after that. Has anyone ever been to Juarez? Did you die? I'm a little worried! It used to be the most dangerous city in the world. It's moved down to #3. For some reason that doesn't make me feel a while lot better.

popcorn popping

Last week Sadie woke up with a fever. Throughout the week Max and Graham got it too.
This is Sadie's day though.
We made popcorn. The only way to really make popcorn (sorry mom and Paige).
And watched Willow.
It was a little scarier then I remember it. But Graham loved it!

It's a classic.

Do you think our bowl's big enough?
