Tricks with dad

Graham loves sitting on Amron's hand while Amron balances him. It scares mom some times but "whaaatever".

Road Trip!!!

Today we went with Grammo and Papo to see Grandpa Draper and Annetia in York Valley. We went to Sonic first of course! We got to "visit" with Grammo and Papo on the way and hear the latest. Then when we got to Grandpa Drapers house we talked for a little bit then Grandpa took us to see Morenci and the mine. It was pretty cool. Grandpa was the perfect tour guide on accound of he worked for the mine for 32 years and is a tour gide for them now. We also went to our Uncle Bobby Dale's gave site. It was a pretty fun day.

3rd of July!

This was our pre-4th of July get together at Deidra and Garren's new, beautiful home. Alex is Graham's favorite cousin! Aren't they adorable??

Fourth of July

For the Fourth we went swimming at Uncle Steve's. Everyone in the fam came and Chase even brough his GF. Also Aunt Julie and Uncle Lance's familes came too. After we went swimming we went to Papa Chuy's, got frozen yogart, then to Uncle Lance's to watch fire works.

When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn't stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother's heart, and she puts it into the baby's mind. And then God waits. The greatest force in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The grestest force in the world are babies. -E.T. Sullivan

After!

Graham and I went to the Pima Pool. There is a little kids pool that is small and shallow. Graham just looked around and squinted a lot. All the little girls were very interested in Graham and wanted to hold him. We let a few of them...

Before...

Our New Ward

We love our new ward in Pima! Three other young married couples moved into the ward all with in a few weeks of us so we have lots of new friends. One of the little familes are our cousins! Drew, Rikki, and Brock live in the same place that we do! They are so fun. We love playing games and just hanging out with them. Brock is a few months older then Graham so we are super excited for them to be buddies. And it's cool how it worked out that we all basically visit teach and home teach eachother so we get lots of extra hanging out time. Also we had to speak a few weeks ago! Ekk. And I got called to be an Assistant Beehive Advisor. We had a sleep over on Wednesday and I loved it. I feel like i'm 13 again. I know kinda scary....
"Men, in general, are but great children" -Napoleon Bonaparte

Papo is sooo amazing. Sometimes he tries to act pretty tough but it's all a show. He loves his grandsons like nothing else. It's precious. We love that he loves Graham. We are so excited for when Graham gets a little older and can do all the fun things Papo wants to do with him. Like lawn mower rides, camping, shooting, and of course eating tons of ice cream!

Graham's Blessing Day/Night

spirit, peace, contentment, joy, unity(with Amron), happiness, purity, beauty, and hope. These are the words that I wrote down the night after Graham's blessing that helped we to put my feelings on paper. It was such a special experience. Almost all of the people we love the most could be there with us and the Spirit was so strong. I was so happy. It was such a good day to reflect on my life and realize how blessed I am. I have an amazing, worthy Priesthood holder as my husband and we have a sweet bundle of joy straight from our Heavenly Father. Everything isn't perfect and I have alot of improving but I know Heavenly Father is happy with me and the choices I am making in my life right now. There is nothing better that I could be spending my time on then our little family.
It was also so special to share that day with Graham's Aunt Paige, and our cousins Jace and Trent. One of the many perks to being a part of a big, huge, fun family.
P.S. Granny made Graham's little blessing outfit and it turned out very nice, thanks Granny!

We moved! MAY 2009

Papo is helping us move! And he was a pretty good help...if we kept him away from Graham.
In May we moved from Thatcher to Pima. It was an upgrade for sure. Our new place is a 3 bed room 2 bath, washer dryer hook ups and AC. What more could you want??? We love it and feel pretty spoiled. We always get blessed with way more then we deserve. And we are so greatful for our fam for all thier support. Comming soon.....more pics of our place!

In high school I was really good about having goals, writing them down and accomplishing them. I started to slide in college and it seems I got worst after I was married. Now all of the sudden I'm so motivated to set goals. I'm pretty sure it's Heavenly Father prompting me to be the best mom that I can be. So I'm going to write some of my goals in my blog so I'm more accountable to them. Then I will write about how I'm doing on them.

Goal #1 Read scriptures and say prayers everyday.

Goal #2 Study Spanish half an hour everyday.

Goal #3 Be organized.

Goal #4 No gossiping!

Goal #5 Figure out Body-for-Life plan and once I start stick to it!

Goal # 6 Be the best mom that I can be.

Something else that is really important to me is I want to develop Christ like love. I'm sure this will take me soooo long but I know with the Savior's help I can do it!

My ultimate goal is to return to my Heavenly Father and be with my family forever. The other goals should help me to get there.

My Plans, Goals, Dreams, Vision

I never knew how motivating it would be to be a mom!

It's 5:07 AM. I'm up cuz I'm waiting for Graham to wake up. Amron has finals tomorrow and needs more sleep then he's going to get. Graham went to bed around 1. I hope he sleeps till 6! That would be awesome. Right now he eats every 3 hours during the day and then at night we feed him every 3 hours or longer, depending on when he wakes up. We are doing Baby Wise and so far it is working great.
Right now we are looking for a new place to live in Thatcher. We looked at a 3 bedroom 2 bath aparment. I felt spoiled just imagining living in it. Haha. Our apartment that we are in now is tiny. And old. And dirty. We will be living in Thatcher (the gila valley) until the end of December so it would be cool to find in something a little nicer for the next 8 months. We really can't afford the 3 bed 2 bath appartment we looked at today but Amron called Tammy, the owner, and asked if there was anything he could do around the place to lower the rent. She said she is thinking of hiring an on site person to help with stuff. She is going to call us back tomorrow.
Amron is going to be done with his associates in December. That is amazing because he started in January and will be done in december. Usually it takes people twice that long. Our plan is to move back to Chandler in December and for Amron to start ASU in January. He will get his Bachalors in 2 years then go to medical school. We are thinking Porta Rica. No, more like we are dreaming Porta Rico. Our dream with Amron going to medical school is to be able to serve in poor countries.

Graham is waking up! More later!

President Benson’s 10 Suggestions for Successful Parenting

Posted: 27 Mar 2009 01:00 AM PDT

“Thinking of the example of his own mother and that of his beloved and faithful wife, Flora, President Benson has offered ten specific suggestions for mothers as they guide their precious children:1. Take time to always be at the crossroads in the lives of your children, whether they be six or sixteen.2. Take time to be a real friend to your children.3. Take time to read to your children. Remember what the poet wrote:You may have tangible wealth untold; Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold. Richer than I you can never be— I had a mother who read to me. 4. Take time to pray with your children.5. Take time to have a meaningful weekly home evening. Make this one of your great family traditions.6. Take time to be together at mealtimes as often as possible.7. Take time daily to read the scriptures together as a family.8. Take time to do things together as a family.9. Take time to teach your children.10. Take time to truly love your children. A mother’s unqualified love approaches Christlike love (see Ezra Taft Benson, To the Mothers in Zion, pamphlet, 1987, pp. 8–12; see also Ezra Taft Benson, Come, Listen to a Prophet’s Voice, Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1990, pp. 32–36).”

This is my husband Amron Dee Harper. He is amazing. He loves me so much. He shows me how much he loves me everyday by having family scriptures, doing the dishes, being a worthy Priesthood holder, working hard, snuggling me, telling me he loves me, opening the door for me, and so many other things. I feel so blessed that Heavenly Father loves me enough to give me Amron. I'm overwhelmed sometimes by his goodness. He makes me want to be better. I'm so happy I will have him for eternity.

Precious

Graham was born on Easter!

Graham was born on Easter!
The Friday before he was born I went to the hospital with my mom, all ready to have this boy. My contractions were 5-7 minutes apart and 1 minute long. I had been having contractions for the last few days and and really strong ones the night before at my baby shower (which was so great by the way!). I had called my doctor and got the okay to go to the hospital. We got to the hospital and they hooked me up to a machine that monitored the intensity of the contractions, had me lay down and asked me lots of very personal questions. After about an hour of this the very sweet nurse said my contractions were too speratic, to come back when they were closer to a minute apart, and to take Tylenol for the pain. I was pretty bummed but the one good thing that had happened while I was in the hospital was that I talked to Amron and he was coming!!! Amron had been in Thatcher going to school while I had been in Gilbert, with my parents waiting for the baby to come.
That evening after watching What Not to Wear. Me, Amron, Ash, Shane, Mom, and Paige all went to eat. We went to this not very good Hawaiian place. That night I started having bad, bad contrations. Ones that really hurt not just tightened! Didn't get a lot of sleep that night. The next day was more of just waiting for little Graham. We went to the Harpers, Lyle looked at the Blazer. And we just kinda hung out. That night we all squeezed into the Mini and went to Jordan's (really good Mexican food in Phoenix). Mom and dad were in the front. Me, Amron, Ash and Shane in the middle and Chase, Chandler, and Paige in the back! It was fun.
That night we didn't sleep at all. The contractions were close and long but didn't seem to be close enough. We kept timeing and finally, around 2 AM (Easter Morning) and in the bath, they were a mintue apart. But they didn't stay a minute! But we decided to go the the hospital anyways. When we got there I could barly tell the front desk lady my info cuz I was crying. They hurt real bad! But we were they and they did the test to see how dialated I was and I was a 5. So that ment we could stay!
The next part was a little scary. The IV. Then, The Epidural. But it went great! Me and Amron said a little prayer before they put the Epidural in and everything went fine. After I had the Epidural I didn't feel any pain what so ever. It was amazing. All the family came in my room while we were waiting and I even took a little nap I was so comfortable! Then after a few hours the nurse said I was ready to start pushing and everyone left except for mom, dad, and Amron. Dr. Holmes came a little while after we started pushing. We was excited like always. I was feeling so good! After about 45 minutes of pushing Graham came into our lives and we will never be the same. From the first minute of his life there has been a special spirit with him. You could feel the spirit enter the room as Graham was born. Dad said there was tears in the Doctor's eyes. Right after he came out Doctor Holmes put him on my chest and right then I realized I was a mom. And this was my baby. And I loved him soo much!
